North Korea is reportedly preparing to launch a satellite with the potential of detonating a nuclear weapon a hundred miles or so over the United States — possibly soon to be followed by its strategic ally, Iran. President Obama has claimed that the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) is a “JV Team” (January 27, 2014) that we are going to “degrade and ultimately destroy” (September 10, 2014), that is “now contained” … and “continues to shrink” (November 13, 2015), just hours before coordinated ISIS attacks in Paris, carried out at six sites, in at least two restaurants, the French national soccer stadium and a theater.
