Dear High Frontier Supporter,
I hope you and your family are healthy, happy and enjoying a blessed Thanksgiving Day!
As you consider all that we should be thankful for, please remember that the recent election has given us the first opportunity in a quarter century to see President Ronald Reagan’s Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI) vision realized.
I explained this important claim in my Tuesday message, which I urge you to read if you haven’t already. (Click here.) It elaborated why Candidate Donald Trump’s promise last September gives us this hope:
“We propose to rebuild the key tools of missile defense, starting with the Navy cruisers that are the foundation of our missile defense capabilities in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. As we expand our Navy toward the goal of 350 ships, we will also procure additional modern destroyers that are designed to handle the missile defense mission in the coming years.” . . . Candidate Donald Trump, September 2016 Speech in Philadelphia
My message explained that this promise strongly suggests that Donald Trump will be the first President on my wavelength since I left the scene as SDI Director with the advent of the Clinton administration in January 1993, which cancelled the most important initiatives from the SDI era (1984-1993). No administration has since sought to revive the best SDI technologies. They have even undermined progress on the Navy’s Aegis BMD, which began on my SDI watch, by preventing the Navy’s interest in employing that SDI technology.
Now we should have an opportunity to make Aegis BMD all it can be, and also to revive Ronald Reagan’s original vision that placed a top priority on developing truly effective space-based defenses—a vision nearly realized in the early 1990s, but abandoned by the Clinton administration and not revived since.
Now we have the opportunity to realize President Reagan’s vision, shared by his partner, High Frontier founder Lt. Gen. Danny Graham. Click here to hear President Reagan’s personal best wishes on our 10th anniversary in 1991.
I promised Danny on his death bed to keep High Frontier going and to do all I could to see his and President Reagan’s vision realized. I have kept that promise so far.
But I am now facing the all too real possibility that our funding will not permit us to continue much longer—months at most.
So, I ask you as you consider all that we have to be thankful for, please include us in your year-end giving plans. I truly don’t want to leave this battle until the Good Lord calls me home. I will give my time, but I need administrative support and help with social media at which I at best am a novice.
