November 3, 2015—Protecting the Grid: Good News, Bad News . . .

“The Secretary of Defense at the time, Leon Panetta, called the threat of a cyber-attack on the power grid potentially a cyber-Pearl Harbor. That’s pretty huge, and nobody was paying any attention to it. And so I wondered: A) Are these people just exaggerating for reasons I don’t quite understand, and B) If they’re not, what is the government doing to prepare for it and to prepare the public for it? And my instinct told me that the answer was going to be not much. Not much is an exaggeration. Nothing is closer to the truth.” ~ Ted Koppel on the PBS Newshour, October 27, 2015, discussing his new book, “Lights Out: A Cyber Attack, A Nation Unprepared, Surviving the Aftermath.” Read Full Story

October 6, 2015—No Time To Waste!

The Obama administration seems delusional about the threats we face and clueless about how to counter them. Others must fill the gaps, and 2016 should be a national-security election. Hopefully, we will elect a president and congress who understand the urgent strategic perils America faces—worldwide, and especially in the Middle East. We quite literally have no time to waste. September 29, 2015—Russia and Middle East Madness!

“But I don’t want to go among the mad people,” Alice remarked. “Oh, you can’t help that,” said the [Cheshire] cat, “We’re all mad here. I’m Mad, you’re mad.” “How do you know I’m mad?” said Alice. “You must be,” said the cat, “or else you wouldn’t have come here.” ~ Lewis Carol, Alice in Wonderland. Read Full Story

August 25, 2015 — Middle East Madness?

We are entering a dangerous period during which the Middle East may become embroiled in a nuclear war between Israel and Iran—and consequences from that war could extend well beyond the Middle East, even to America with existential implications. Unless something happens to persuade Congress to block President Obama’s “Deal with Iran,” such dire events could follow shortly. And time is running out. Read Full Story

August 18, 2015—Daunting Dog Days . . .

September 11, 1683 was when Muslim armies were turned back from Vienna. Maybe September 11 has meaning for the jihadi terrorists. A September 11, 2012 jihadi attack on our Benghazi consulate killed the U.S. Ambassador to Libya and three other Americans—after the Ambassador’s requests for additional security went unanswered. And we are still wondering what happened as the FBI will be investigating the messages on then Secretary of State Hilary Clinton’s email server, as we approach another September 11. Stay tuned! August 4, 2015 – Moniz, Maddow, Shultz and the “Know Nothing” Club . . .

In a June 29 article on MSNBC’s Maddow Blog, Steve Benen reported on exchanges between Senators and Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz, presumably associated with the technical issues of assuring the verifiability of the Deal with Iran, which alleges to block Iranian nuclear weapons for at least a decade. He ridiculed Senator Ron Johnson’s question of whether Secretary Moniz was familiar with electromagnetic pulse, noting that question had nothing to do with the “Deal” and challenged Senator Ted Cruz’s references to his previous testimony. Benen then proceeded to make numerous false or misleading claims based on a chorus of other also ill-informed or incompetent, poorly researched related commentaries masquerading as press accounts. July 28, 2015—Iranian Deal Deception!

“I continue to be concerned about Iranian malign activity in the region to include here [in Iraq], and the possibility of Iranian aggression and the possibility that Iran will not obey the agreement, which we’ll find out, because there’s got to be inspections and [verification] and so forth . . . We will keep the military option, which was the alternative to a deal . . . [It] doesn’t solve all problems over in this part of the world, and it doesn’t solve all problems emanating from Iran. …It’s an agreement that places important limitations upon Iran, places no limits on us, and it doesn’t place any limits on anything we do with anybody in this region.” Defense Secretary Ashton Carter to the Troops in Iraq, as reported by Breitbart News on July 24. July 21, 2015—An Iran Deal Distraction!

July 21, 2015—An Iran Deal Distraction!

The Deal with Iran is a bad, bad deal—and the debate over its future acceptance will no doubt be very political in the coming weeks. Unfortunately, this debate ignores an existing Iranian capability to attack the United States with nuclear weapons they may rapidly obtain, if they don’t have them already. And this means of attack poses an existential threat to all Americans—just what the Iranian mullahs and their followers say they want when they chant “Death to America.” Beware of an EMP attack from a satellite launched southward from Iran (or North Korea). Wake up America! Read Full Story
