“Global critical infrastructure organizations need to take this threat seriously. The Iranian adversary is real and they’re coming, if not already here.” ~ Mark Weatherford, Former Deputy Under Secretary of Homeland Security Read Full Story

A recent National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) publication raised a timely issue—that it is time to debate the utility of space based defenses against ballistic missiles, because of the growing threat. I could not agree more, and here provide additional reasons why and offer some counters to those who criticized aspects of this important paper. Read Full Story
We seem to be in a rut. As for the past two Thanksgivings, my email message deals again with our hapless foreign policy in dealing with Iran. We are again, for the second time, extending the talks, to what objective is unclear. After a bit of review, consider what it takes to achieve a meaningfully verifiable agreement with Iran to block their path to a nuclear weapon. Then we’ll reflect on the Thanksgiving tradition. “It’s déjà vu all over again,” New York Yankee Yogi Berra supposedly explained after watching Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris repeatedly hit back-to-back home runs. The run-up to the November 24th due date for agreement with Iran to curtail its nuclear programs seems likely to fit Yogi’s metaphor for more U.S. foolishness. This perhaps the most dangerous of the Obama administration’s follies is masked by greater attention being given to the President’s likely Amnesty executive decision, the run-up to a possible December 12th Government shutdown, the “Gruber effect” and other foreign policy debacles. “Are these the beginnings of profound changes in the Soviet state? Or are they token gestures, intended to raise false hopes in the West, or to strengthen the Soviet system without changing it? We welcome change and openness; for we believe that freedom and security go together, that the advance of human liberty can only strengthen the cause of world peace.” ~ Ronald Reagan – June 12, 1987 Read Full Story
“We the people” must stay alert throughout the entire remainder of President Obama’s lame duck presidency, beginning now—and beyond—to assure that our elected representatives—on both sides of the aisle—live up to their Constitutional oath “to provide for the common defense.” Read Full Story
“”Our loyal, brave people… should know the truth. They should know that there has been a gross neglect and deficiency in our defenses; they should know that we have sustained a defeat without a war, the consequences of which will travel far with us along our road… and do not suppose that this is the end. This is only the beginning of the reckoning. This is only the first sip, the first foretaste of the bitter cup which will be proffered to us year by year, unless by a supreme recovery of moral health and martial vigour, we arise again and take our stand for freedom as in olden time.” ~Winston Churchill, in protest against the Munich settlement, 1938 Read Full Story
“[The federal government’s] purpose is to safeguard the American people and pursue our interests in the world, not to solve the world’s problems on our dime and, occasionally, by using us as laboratory mice. As free people, we can try to save the planet. The federal government, however, was not created to do it for us, much less to coerce us into implausible “humanitarian” schemes that always manage to line some crony’s pocket. National interest is our government’s only reliable compass, yet it has been discarded.” ~Andy McCarthy Read Full Story
Former Defense Secretary and CIA Director Leon Panetta and other departed senior officials have stated their misgivings about President Obama’s strategy, that, among other things, helped make possible the rise of ISIS. Panetta recently stated: “When we stepped out of Iraq, we created this vacuum.” ISIS is currently filling the space in the Middle East. Will they succeed? Will they be defeated? Contained? Come here? Hmmmmm . . . Read Full Story
The rise of the Islamic State and its objective of re-establishing an Islamic caliphate committed to destroying Western civilization highlights a threat the U.S. has ignored for decades. The ability to launch nuclear armed ballistic missiles is not beyond its prospective capabilities and exists already from North Korea and possibly soon from Iran. The electromagnetic pulse (EMP) from a single nuclear warhead detonated 100 miles or so over the U.S. could destroy our unhardened electric power grid—leading to the death of several hundred million Americans within the following year. It’s time to counter this threat! Read Full Story
