October 9, 2018—Go: Marsh Commission Do-Over!

“The single most important action that must be taken immediately to advance national strength and survivability is: Establish an Executive Agent, with the authority, accountability, and resources to manage U.S. national infrastructure protection and defense against the existential threat. Current institutional authorities and responsibilities—government, industry, regulatory agencies—are fragmented, incomplete, inexperienced, under-resourced, and unable to protect and defend against foreign hostile EMP threats and solar superstorms.” Dr. William R. Graham, Chairman of the former Congressional EMP Commission Read Full Story

“So far, the only promising [boost phase] defense system concept has been a space based or satellite borne interceptor. Such a system requires many thousands of interceptors in space, but at a given instant only a small fraction will be in a position to attack. The economic feasibility of such systems is heavily dependent upon equipment reliability and upon enemy countermeasures.” ~ Harold N. Beveridge in his 1960 Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) ‘Project Defender” report to the Director of Research and Engineering Read Full Story

September 11, 2018—Remember 9/11 if you can . . .

September 11, 2018—Remember 9/11 if you can . . .

Do you recall what you were doing when you became aware of 9/11? I was in a company managers meeting in Alexandria, VA when we got word a plane had crashed into the World Trade Center. Then the second, and so we knew neither was an accident. And shortly thereafter we were looking for the smoke from the third that impacted the Pentagon …and somewhat later we learned that a fourth had crashed in Pennsylvania — thanks to alert and heroic passengers. Otherwise, the White House or Capitol might be part of the 9/11 images we remember . . . Lest we forget! . . . Read Full Story

September 4, 2018—Work from the Bottom Up!

“What I decided to do when I set out to write this book was to try to understand why the core values—the core qualities that make America great seemed to be in decline . . . whether it is the ability for Washington to get anything done, the kind of bipartisanship we used to enjoy on big issues . . . what I found was in many ways our core values have been hijacked . . .” Steven Brill, Author of Tailspin: The People and Forces Behind America’s Fifty Year Fall—and Those Fighting to Reverse It Read Full Story

June 19, 2018—EMP Commission Reports Continue to Dribble Out . . .

“Protecting and defending the national electric grid and other critical infrastructures from cyber and EMP could be accomplished at reasonable cost and minimal disruption to the present systems that comprise U.S. critical infrastructure. This is commensurate with Trump Administration plans to repair and improve U.S. infrastructures, increase their reliability, and strengthen homeland defense and military capability. Continued failure to address the U.S. vulnerability to EMP generated by a high-altitude nuclear weapon invites such an attack.” ~Recently released July 2017 EMP Commission Executive Report.” Read Full Story

May 22, 2018—What, Me Worry?

“We who have worked in EMP for professional lifetimes are enormously frustrated to see amateurs, academics, reporters, and even some scientists untrained and uninformed posturing as experts. It is extremely dangerous when so many in the public forum deny or grossly underestimate EMP, ignorant of the vast body of scientific research and empirical evidence proving EMP is the greatest threat to our electronic civilization.” ~ Drs. William Radasky and Peter Vincent Pry Read Full Story

May 15, 2018—Need Presidential Executive Order to Implement EMP Commission Recommendations!

Following the EMP Commission’s last meeting on June 8-9, 2017, global events have strengthened public awareness of the worldwide vulnerability of critical infrastructures to high altitude electromagnetic pulse (EMP). But the Commission’s reports are just now beginning to come out. President Trump should assure a much more responsive effort than is currently planned by the Congress, which foolishly canceled the past commission after it served with distinction for 17 years. Congress mandated a lengthy hiatus and eventually a new commission. Read Full Story

May 1, 2018—North Korea Do-Over?

For the first time since I was a high school junior, the leaders of North and South Korea met last week in the De-Militarized Zone (DMZ) where the armistice was signed ending the Korean War, but not the conflict and associated hostility that continues to this day. Is this really good news or will it just set the stage of a replay of past North Korean duplicity and U.S. accommodation? Read Full Story
