January 12, 2015—MI5: Heads-Up!!!

“We still face more complex and ambitious plots that follow the now sadly well established approach of Al Qaeda and its imitators: attempts to cause large scale loss of life, often by attacking transport systems or iconic targets. We know, for example, that a group of core Al Qaeda terrorists in Syria is planning mass casualty attacks against the West.“ ~ MI5 Director Andrew Parker, January 8, 2015 Read Full Story

January 7, 2015—2015 Priorities

The nation’s nuclear power plants are both: 1) A serious hazard to all Americans if not protected—and alternatively, 2) If they are protected, an important countermeasure because they can play a major role in recovering the electric grid if it fails from either a natural or manmade electromagnetic pulse (EMP) event—or from other threats, such as from physical or cyber attacks. December 4, 2014—Time to Debate About Space Based Defense?

December 4, 2014—Time to Debate About Space Based Defense?

A recent National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) publication raised a timely issue—that it is time to debate the utility of space based defenses against ballistic missiles, because of the growing threat. I could not agree more, and here provide additional reasons why and offer some counters to those who criticized aspects of this important paper. Read Full Story

November 25, 2014—We’ve Never Found Anything Successfully Hidden

We seem to be in a rut. As for the past two Thanksgivings, my email message deals again with our hapless foreign policy in dealing with Iran. We are again, for the second time, extending the talks, to what objective is unclear. After a bit of review, consider what it takes to achieve a meaningfully verifiable agreement with Iran to block their path to a nuclear weapon. Then we’ll reflect on the Thanksgiving tradition. November 20, 2014—”Déjà Vu All Over Again!”

November 20, 2014—”Déjà Vu All Over Again!”

“It’s déjà vu all over again,” New York Yankee Yogi Berra supposedly explained after watching Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris repeatedly hit back-to-back home runs. The run-up to the November 24th due date for agreement with Iran to curtail its nuclear programs seems likely to fit Yogi’s metaphor for more U.S. foolishness. This perhaps the most dangerous of the Obama administration’s follies is masked by greater attention being given to the President’s likely Amnesty executive decision, the run-up to a possible December 12th Government shutdown, the “Gruber effect” and other foreign policy debacles. October 31, 2014—Who Knows What Evil Lurks?

“”Our loyal, brave people… should know the truth. They should know that there has been a gross neglect and deficiency in our defenses; they should know that we have sustained a defeat without a war, the consequences of which will travel far with us along our road… and do not suppose that this is the end. This is only the beginning of the reckoning. This is only the first sip, the first foretaste of the bitter cup which will be proffered to us year by year, unless by a supreme recovery of moral health and martial vigour, we arise again and take our stand for freedom as in olden time.” ~Winston Churchill, in protest against the Munich settlement, 1938 Read Full Story

October 22, 2014—Who you gonna believe, me or your lying eyes?

“[The federal government’s] purpose is to safeguard the American people and pursue our interests in the world, not to solve the world’s problems on our dime and, occasionally, by using us as laboratory mice. As free people, we can try to save the planet. The federal government, however, was not created to do it for us, much less to coerce us into implausible “humanitarian” schemes that always manage to line some crony’s pocket. National interest is our government’s only reliable compass, yet it has been discarded.” ~Andy McCarthy Read Full Story
