July 23, 2013—Time for Churchill’s “V for Victory”?

Winston Churchill overcame many difficulties—even failures—to speak truth to power in the 1930s, warning about the growing existential threat to Great Britain—indeed all of Western Civilization; and when that truth became sufficiently apparent, to lead the British from apathy to victory in a great world war. America’s rude Tax Day wakeup call in Boston shows we need informed and engaged leadership to deal effectively with the Global Jihad that poses an existential threat to America—and all of Western Civilization. North Korea and Iran seem joined at the hip, and our Intelligence Community seems confused about North Korea’s proximity to nuclear-armed ballistic missiles. Whatever it is, Iran won’t be far behind. Additional ground based interceptors in Alaska responds to North Korea’s threat to preemptively attack the U.S. but plans for a ground based site in Poland have changed for a second time—apparently to appease Russia while downgrading the threat from Iran and ignoring concerns of our allies.
