“The problem with mass immigration from sharia enclaves is not merely that trained terrorists may infiltrate the immigrant population. It is that sharia-adherent, assimilation-resistant Muslims will form sharia enclaves in the U.S., as they have throughout Europe, where young Muslims will be “radicalized” under our noses in the years to come. Today, we have gotten another glimpse of radicalization, which is not “homegrown” but rather fueled by a foreign, anti-American, anti-liberty ideology.” ~ Andrew McCarthy, June 12, 2016
The above quotation is from Andy McCarthy’s National Review Article “Killing Homosexuals is not ISIS Law, It is Muslim Law” (Click here), which addresses the heart of the matters that we must confront if we are ever to understand the threat posed by Islamic true believers. I quoted Andy in my last message (click here), which argues we should stop the “political correctness” that has pervasively dominated our policies since 9/11 and correctly identify our global enemy as a truly existential threat. This begins with understanding that Islam is definitely not a religion of peace, as claimed immediately after 9/11 by President George W. Bush.
Sharia, not ISIS, is the Real Threat!
McCarthy’s argument persuasively disputes the common tendency to “blame ISIS” as “today’s” enemy, rather than the roots of our problems that lie in Sharia Law, Islam’s religious legal system — whether practiced by Sunni adherents, like ISIS and al Qaeda from whence came ISIS, or Shia adherents like Iran, the world’s main state sponsor of terrorism. The goal of all Islamic true believers is to seek to impose sharia mandates in all societies in which they live. Under the terms of sharia, the true believers demand that all others convert to Islam, submit and pay a tax — the “jizya,” or die.
Anyone can determine with minor study that Sharia Law has many provisions that are contrary to our U.S. Constitution. But ironically our Constitution’s First Amendment is used to divert attention from Sharia’s onerous mandates by emphasizing that Islam is a religion, and therefore its adherents are protected under its terms.
Is this protection appropriate given Islam’s supremacist mandates demean and subjugate women; condemn, summarily dismember or even kill homosexuals and/or others; persecute and murder Christians; and call for global conquest and ultimate victory over others?
This perspective underpins the jihadist attacks exhibited in Orlando, San Bernardino, Boston and other places in America and numerous cities overseas. In the Middle East, Christians have been murdered and driven from lands where they have lived for nearly 2000 years. And at an international level, Iran’s mullahs call for “Death to Israel — the Little Satan” and “Death to America — the Great Satan.”
Christians face being wiped out from the Middle East within ten years as increasing numbers are killed by Muslim extremists or forced to flee persecution, Catholic aid groups have warned. The alarming rate of decline means the religion could vanish in some areas in just five years unless the world steps in, says the international Catholic charity Aid to the Church in Need.
Click here for an associated alarming report from the United Kingdom’s Daily Mail that ISIS has been butchering Christians in Iraq in mass executions—their number has plunged from one million to just 275,000 in the last 12 years alone. The study, entitled Persecuted and Forgotten? reports that the faith is also facing increasing pressure in Saudi Arabia, Iran and other Gulf nations, adding that the Church is being “silenced and driven out of its ancient biblical heartland”.
The British-based International Catholic Charity Aid to the Church in Need report says: “At a time when the numbers of [the] displaced and refugees have hit an all-time high, Islamists groups — ISIS foremost — are carrying out religiously motivated ethnic cleaning of Christians.”
So, how many Christians are among the refugees entering the United States? Not many—some reports indicate less than 3-percent. And our leaders are looking the other way.
Moreover, Christians and Republicans Are To Blame for Orlando . . . Really???
As ISIS kills Christians in their Middle East homelands, the liberal mass media blames the Orlando events on Christians and especially Republicans here in America — click here for a pertinent sample: A June 15 “knee jerk” editorial from the New York Times, blaming the June 12 jihadist attack on those who support the view that marriage is between a man and a woman — and arguing that the attack on the LGBT gay nightclub in Orlando was, in effect, a hate crime attributable to Christians and Republicans.
This claim is just another distraction from a comprehensive assessment of this jihadist attack — like in all the others. Too bad later evidence turned up that Omar Mateen himself may have been gay with a guilty conscience as a good Muslim, since Islam’s Sharia Law calls for death to homosexuals. Click here for one recent summary.
By the way, Chick-fil-A, which had been ridiculed by the main stream media because of its founder’s belief that marriage is between a man and a woman, broke its code of not serving on Sunday and folks from several drive-by Chick-fil-A restaurants were on the scene early, providing sustenance and help to the responders and victims of Mateen’s carnage. Click here for a story mostly ignored by the “lame stream” media.
Christians are challenged to hate the sin, but love the sinner. Muslims, not so much. It is a “religion of peace?”
Orlando: A Black Swan Event?
It is long past time that Americans end this delusional and dangerous perspective. If there can be any worthy outcome from the obvious jihadist attack in Orlando, it could be looked back on as a “Black Swan” event that we should have seen coming, made most clear the dangers our policies have been courting, and, like “Pearl Harbor,” awakens us to understand our enemy and defeat it.
Click here for my December 11, 2013 discussion of Black Swan events. My purpose then was to point out the signs of a near-term existential electromagnetic pulse (EMP) threat, which has only grown, by the way. The Orlando jihadist attack is another warning that could be an omen of much more devastating homeland attacks to come — still including the possibility of an EMP attack.
Executing this urgently important task of understanding and defeating our jihadist enemies will not be easy — especially given the efforts of the Obama administration and its supporters to hide the obvious threat behind a charade of claims, like:
- We’re winning the war with the Islamic State — in spite of the administration’s obvious policy/strategy failures;
- Orlando is just another reason we need more gun control laws — though proposed changes would have had no impact on Orlando; and
- We seek to avoid of any reference to the jihad we are actually confronting — though contrary signs are unmistakable.
We’re Winning—Really? President Obama in the wake of Orlando barely got out of his mouth his most recent claim that we are winning the war on the ISIS before CIA Director John Brennan testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee that it is as threatening as ever and, in fact, is expanding globally—click here.
Among other things, Brennan aptly observed that “The resources needed for terrorism are very modest, and the group would have to suffer even heavier losses of territory, manpower and money for its terrorist capacity to decline significantly. . . . In fact, as the pressure mounts on ISIL, we judge that it will intensify its global terror campaign to maintain its dominance of the global terrorism agenda.” He also warned that ISIS “is training and attempting to deploy operatives for further attacks.” Moreover, he observed that ISIS
“has a large cadre of Western fighters who could potentially serve as operatives for attacks in the West. And the group is probably exploring a variety of means for infiltrating operatives into the West, including refugee flows, smuggling routes, and legitimate methods of travel.”
Brennan also testified that lone wolf attackers inspired by but not under the direct control of jihadist terror groups represent “an exceptionally challenging issue for the intelligence community.” He observed that the Orlando shooter, Omar Mateen—a U.S. citizen by birth, had “no direct links” to ISIS but was inspired by the organization. But as he then stated, “that inspiration can lead someone to embark on this path of destruction.”
Seemingly oblivious to this observation by his CIA Director and similar cautionary observations by his Director of National Intelligence and his Director of the FBI, President Obama increased the flow rate of refugees into the United States — as is well known, they cannot be appropriately vetted.
What is he thinking?
With an increasing, un-vetted flow rate, we can expect refugees to overwhelm our border and other security authorities — who already have difficulty tracking the jihadist groups and individuals among us. And now we are told by our top intelligence officials that we already should expect additional jihadist attacks?
We know that most Muslims in Europe want Sharia, not European, Law. (For one example accounting with multiple sources, click here.) So a number of European nations, confronted with these consequences, are now are rethinking their lax immigration policies.
Hello??? Can we not learn from the mistakes of others?
Gun Control, That’s the Answer—Not! As is the case in every such crisis, the Orlando jihadist attack led to another call from the left and its media supporters for more gun control constraints on law-abiding Americans.
But criminals and terrorists will get the guns, other weapons and bombs to attack Americans made more vulnerable by most gun control measures. And such measures would not have helped prevent or counter the jihadist attacks in Orlando — nor in San Bernardino, nor in the Boston Marathon bombing, etc. Nor did a French national ban make any difference in the jihadist attacks in Paris.
Click here for a June 13 National Review article by David French, which goes into considerable detail debunking the then anticipated arguments of the left, and ending with the bottom line, “Guns aren’t the enemy — the jihadists are.”
He was right. So, Congress wasted an inordinate amount of time last week through last Monday, mainly as a distraction from dealing with the true cause of concern that should have been manifested by the obvious jihadist Orlando attack that killed 49 and wounded 53 others.
And most notably, a distraction from the abject failure of the Obama administration’s foreign and defense policies.
Pass On By, Nothing To See Here—Really? On NBC’s June 19 Meet the Press, Attorney General Loretta Lynch announced that the 911 transcript of Mateen ‘s calls would be edited to remove all references to Islamic terror.
She claimed, “What we’re not going to do is further proclaim this man’s pledges of allegiance to terrorist groups, and further his propaganda.” More likely she really wants to alter history, redacting the terrorist’s own claims” in order to make this just a shooting and not a terrorist attack.
As she further said, “We’re not going to hear him make his assertions of allegiance” . . . to the Islamic State. Click here to read Monday’s Washington Post publication of the redacted transcript excerpts and decide for yourself if Mateen is an Islamic true believer — wasn’t’ that precisely the allegiance he professed? And can you think of how gun control could have helped head off his jihadist attack.
(Note the Post reported Mateen’s reference to “God” — no doubt, Mateen referred in Arabic to Allah, which is not the same as the Judeo-Christian God. An additional bit of deception, you think? Or ignorance?)
We had better learn to identify the enemy. Our President says it doesn’t matter what we call the enemy — and ignores the enemy’s underlying Islamic commitment to Sharia Law, which informs our true enemy. At least calling for a fight against Radical Islam would help distinguish those who actively pursue jihadist terrorism from those who wish to reform their Islamic heritage.
Hope For The Future?
We want to believe that most are peaceful and want peace — as we define peace, not as the Islam’s true believers define it. Is an Islamic reformation possible?
Good question. Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser, the Founder and President of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy (AIFD) (Click here.) and author of A Battle for the Soul of Islam: An American Muslim Patriot’s Fight to Save His Faith, seeks such a reformation.
So does Egypt’s President el Sisi, who struck a similar tone with a group of Muslim clerics at al-Azhar University in Cairo in January 2105 — saying that Islam needed a “religious revolution” and calling on clerics to take the lead. “We are in need of a religious revolution. You imams are responsible before Allah . . . The entire world is waiting for your word … because the Islamic world is being torn, it is being destroyed, it is being lost … by our own hands.” Click here.
For more discussion of Sisi’s importance, click here for my January 12, 2015 message, which dealt with his message to the Islamic clerics, and here for my June 2, 2015 message, which focused on the distinction without a difference between Sunni and Shia Islam, insofar as the jihadist threat to U.S. interests go.
President Sisi is a graduate of the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania — by the way — as is Jordan’s King Abdullah, another ally in the war with the jihadist terrorists.
So, I believe there is reason to hope that we can deal with this threat, but we must first be accurate in defining who/what is our enemy and develop a comprehensive strategy to counter it.
Claims by the Obama administration and its apologists regarding the Orlando jihadist attack are really nothing more than one more attempt to distract attention from President Obama’s obviously failed national security and foreign policy plans and programs. And not only regarding the kind of terrorism that might be carried out by a few Islamic true believers.
The administration’s strategy is easily identified as demonstrated by my local newspaper editors in last Friday’s Augusta Chronicle editorial — from which I plagiarized my title for this message. (Click here to read what the local folks in South Carolina and Georgia think about these shenanigans.)
We must overcome the proliferated “Weapon of Mass Distraction” employed by the current administration and their apologists.
An important problem, for example, is that the President’s terrible unverifiable deal with Iran — including his release of about $150 billion in sanctions — actually hastens the day when Iran can obtain nuclear weapons; it already has the ballistic missiles and satellite launchers to deliver them to end America and Western Civilization via an EMP attack.
This concern that we face the actual threats confronting us is not a minor political one. So remember:
“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.” ~ Sun Tzu, The Art of War
