July 4, 2017—Happy Independence Day!

Today, we celebrate the founding of America on July 4, 1776—Independence Day to remember when, for the first time ever, “We the People” declared their right to protect themselves from the encroachments of an over-reaching, intrusive government. That formula grew America into a free people and the world’s sole superpower with a quality of life for hundreds of millions, unmatched by any other nation on earth. But as Benjamin Franklin stated on that first Independence Day, the founders “gave us a Republic if we can keep it.” Read Full Story

September 11, 2015—On “Cruz” Control–Hopefully!

Today, we remember those nearly 3000 who died 14 years ago in the 9/11 jihadi attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon—and the failed attack on the White House or the Capitol, thanks to the efforts of those passengers who took United Flight 93 down in Pennsylvania. We are still concerned about additional jihadi attacks on our homeland—and that our leaders are not doing all they can to protect us and our security interests around the world. Read Full Story

August 4, 2015 – Moniz, Maddow, Shultz and the “Know Nothing” Club . . .

In a June 29 article on MSNBC’s Maddow Blog, Steve Benen reported on exchanges between Senators and Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz, presumably associated with the technical issues of assuring the verifiability of the Deal with Iran, which alleges to block Iranian nuclear weapons for at least a decade. He ridiculed Senator Ron Johnson’s question of whether Secretary Moniz was familiar with electromagnetic pulse, noting that question had nothing to do with the “Deal” and challenged Senator Ted Cruz’s references to his previous testimony. Benen then proceeded to make numerous false or misleading claims based on a chorus of other also ill-informed or incompetent, poorly researched related commentaries masquerading as press accounts. December 16, 2014—Needed: A Rickover to Counter EMP and Build Space Defenses!

“I believe it is the duty of each of us to act as if the fate of the world depended on him. Admittedly, one man by himself cannot do the job. However, one man can make a difference. We must live for the future of the human race, and not for our own comfort or success.” ― Hyman G. Rickover Read Full Story

December 4, 2014—Time to Debate About Space Based Defense?

A recent National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) publication raised a timely issue—that it is time to debate the utility of space based defenses against ballistic missiles, because of the growing threat. I could not agree more, and here provide additional reasons why and offer some counters to those who criticized aspects of this important paper. Read Full Story

November 25, 2014—We’ve Never Found Anything Successfully Hidden

We seem to be in a rut. As for the past two Thanksgivings, my email message deals again with our hapless foreign policy in dealing with Iran. We are again, for the second time, extending the talks, to what objective is unclear. After a bit of review, consider what it takes to achieve a meaningfully verifiable agreement with Iran to block their path to a nuclear weapon. Then we’ll reflect on the Thanksgiving tradition. October 31, 2014—Who Knows What Evil Lurks?

“”Our loyal, brave people… should know the truth. They should know that there has been a gross neglect and deficiency in our defenses; they should know that we have sustained a defeat without a war, the consequences of which will travel far with us along our road… and do not suppose that this is the end. This is only the beginning of the reckoning. This is only the first sip, the first foretaste of the bitter cup which will be proffered to us year by year, unless by a supreme recovery of moral health and martial vigour, we arise again and take our stand for freedom as in olden time.” ~Winston Churchill, in protest against the Munich settlement, 1938 Read Full Story
