The electromagnetic pulse (EMP) from a nuclear weapon exploded a hundred miles above the U.S. could kill 60-90 percent of all Americans. In those 13 days of crisis, we were closer to the brink of nuclear holocaust than we then realized. Now we could face a new crisis from the south—from ballistic missiles launched from ships in the Gulf of Mexico or Venezuela.
