ISIS “has become the preeminent terrorist threat because of its self-described caliphate in Syria and Iraq, its branches and emerging branches in other countries, and its increasing ability to direct and inspire attacks against a wide range of targets around the world.” ~ James Clapper, Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Read Full Story

February 2, 2016—Another North Korean Satellite Launch—Hmmm . . .

North Korea is reportedly preparing to launch a satellite with the potential of detonating a nuclear weapon a hundred miles or so over the United States — possibly soon to be followed by its strategic ally, Iran. The resulting electromagnetic pulse (EMP) could destroy our unhardened electric power grid — leading to the death of most Americans within the following year. It’s long past time to counter this threat! Read Full Story

January 19, 2016—SC Tea Party Coalition Convention Briefing.

Assuring the survival and assured restart capability of our nuclear power reactors should be a top priority objective of all who seek to counter the existential threat to the electric power grid posed by Cyber or Physical attack or from manmade or natural EMP threats. We are working with Duke Energy, the largest U.S. power company, to conduct a pilot study to demonstrate just such a capability. Read Full Story

January 12, 2016—On North Korea’s H-Bomb—and Iran’s?

“I agree with the intel community that we assess that they [the North Koreans] have the ability, they have the weapons, and they have the ability to miniaturize those weapons, and they have the ability to put them on a rocket that can range the [U.S.] homeland.” ~ Adm. William Gortney, Northcom Commander, responsible for defending the United States from long-range missile attack, in an October 8, 2015 address to the Atlantic Council. Read Full Story

November 3, 2015—Protecting the Grid: Good News, Bad News . . .

“The Secretary of Defense at the time, Leon Panetta, called the threat of a cyber-attack on the power grid potentially a cyber-Pearl Harbor. That’s pretty huge, and nobody was paying any attention to it. And so I wondered: A) Are these people just exaggerating for reasons I don’t quite understand, and B) If they’re not, what is the government doing to prepare for it and to prepare the public for it? And my instinct told me that the answer was going to be not much. Not much is an exaggeration. Nothing is closer to the truth.” ~ Ted Koppel on the PBS Newshour, October 27, 2015, discussing his new book, “Lights Out: A Cyber Attack, A Nation Unprepared, Surviving the Aftermath.” Read Full Story

October 20, 2015—Such a Deal . . . and a Hall of Shame!

“Today marks an important milestone toward preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon and ensuring its nuclear program is exclusively peaceful going forward. . . . I welcome this important step forward. And we, together with our partners, must now focus on the critical work of fully implementing this comprehensive resolution that addresses our concerns over Iran’s nuclear program.” ~ President Barak Obama, October 18, 2015 . . . July 21, 2015—An Iran Deal Distraction!

The Deal with Iran is a bad, bad deal—and the debate over its future acceptance will no doubt be very political in the coming weeks. Unfortunately, this debate ignores an existing Iranian capability to attack the United States with nuclear weapons they may rapidly obtain, if they don’t have them already. And this means of attack poses an existential threat to all Americans—just what the Iranian mullahs and their followers say they want when they chant “Death to America.” Beware of an EMP attack from a satellite launched southward from Iran (or North Korea). Wake up America! Read Full Story
